Episode 106 – Story Assessments in Science
This week we welcome Fred Ende back to the show. Fred recently had an article published in the Science Scope (January 2014) discussing the use of stories in assessments. Fred talks to us about his experience with story assessments, his student results and how you can create your own story assessments.

I enjoyed reading Fred’s article in Science Scope and it inspired me to give story assessments a try on my last quiz (I teach 7th grade life science). The student response was quite positive overall so I am looking forward to exploring this type of assessment more as the year goes on. Some of the students said the story made it feel like they weren’t even taking a test! Thanks for the idea Fred!
