Visualizing Molecular Structure and Function with Art
To listen to this episode, download the mp3 directly, find us on iTunes, or use the player below.
Our guest this week is scientist and artist Dr. David Goodsell. As Associate Professor at the Scripps Research Institute, Dr. Goodsell splits his time on research and science outreach. His science outreach includes artwork featured online, in a variety of media and even in science museums. Listen to the show to learn how Dr. Goodsell makes his art, how accurate science is reflected in this art, and how you can use it to teach molecular structure and function.

Interesting interview.
I just wanted to mention that the CBM will also be at the upcoming NSTA Conference in Chicago — where we will be presenting a workshop entitled “Telling Molecular Stories with David Goodsell’s Cellular Landscapes” — on Friday,March 13 at 2:00-3:30pm, McCormick Place, W193a.
We will be referring any teachers who attend our workshop to check out this Lab Out Loud interview with David.
And Brian, if I run into you at a bar, I just might buy you that beer.
